第４章～２２～黄金色の田園
So-net blog:さよならベリーズ！うつろいゆく季節の中で
電車は僕たちを乗せて動きはじめた・・・。
僕たちはシートに並んで座る・・・。
舞波ちゃんと僕との距離・・・。
手がひとつ入るくらいに空いている・・・。
触れたらいけない・・・。
僕はそんな気がしたから・・・。
舞波ちゃんも思っているのかな？
舞波ちゃんは黙って反対側の窓を見ていた。
僕も同じように窓の外を眺める。
窓の外を流れていくビルや住宅街。
反対側の席では、小学生達が笑いながらじゃれあっている。
街のはずれのあたりの駅で電車は停まり、小学生たちは手をつないで降りていった。
代わりに一人老婆が乗り込み小学生たちの座っていたシートに座り、すぐに居眠りをはじめた。
電車は再び動き出す。
やがて電車は街中を抜け、田園の中をはしっていく。
遠くにポツポツと家が数件見えるだけの、黄金色に色ついた稲穂の海の中・・・。
その真ん中を電車ははしっていく。
しばらく走ると、稲穂の海のその先に本当の海が見えた。
夕日の光に照らされてきらきら光っている。
電車はゆるやかなカーブを描き、やがて海沿いをはしっていった。
うちよせる波・・・。
海水浴場というには、小さな浜辺。
田舎の小さな砂浜・・・。
やがて電車は海辺の小さな駅で停車した・・・。

雅人：この物語の主人公。性格は内気で、妄想癖がある。
中学に入ってマンガばかり描いていたので近眼になりメガネをかけている。
学校が終わるとすぐ帰ってしまう、いわゆる帰宅部。
特にこれといった特徴もない普通？の男子中学生。
小学校から同じクラスだったモモコに片想いをしている・・・。

雅人のクラスメート。１３歳。負けず嫌いで頑張り屋。
明るくて無邪気な振る舞いが、時として主人公の雅人を翻弄する。

雅人とモモコのクラスメート。背は小さいがしっかり者。
ベリーズのリーダー的存在。

素朴な容姿、天然ボケと舌足らずな喋り方で実年齢より
幼く見られがち・・・。
本人は子供っぽく見られることを気にしているのだが・・・。
同じ学年でも、大人っぽく見られる「雅」に憧れている。

少し恥ずかしがりやでおとなしい性格。

まこと：小学生の頃からの雅人の親友。お調子もので雅人とは正反対の性格。
小学生の頃から始めたドラムの才能がある。
